Assessment

Stabilization

ViewPoint Center offers safe facilities where our patients can stabilize and rebalance. While not every patient needs this step, for those who do, our Medical Team determines how well medications are working and the potential side effects of each medication separately. Once our patients are stabilized we can start the assessment and treatment process.

Assessment

Assessment is about clarifying diagnosis. We begin using a range of assessment tests. Assessments are utilized as an evaluative tool to find the best treatment possible for your teen.

We continue with individual and group therapy as well as residential and academic activities designed to give a more comprehensive and clear assessment.

Diagnosis

Nearly 75% of patients entering Viewpoint are misdiagnosed. Our diagnoses are focused on a full medication evaluation, diagnostic assessment, and then continual reassessment. Evaluations may include an anxiety or depression test for teens and other diagnostic assessments.  Our comprehensive approach and team environment offers a clearer picture of how to help your child going forward.

Treatment

We work exclusively with teens aged 12 – 18  in a unique, individualized setting. Typically patients stay 5-6 weeks. The length of stay allows us to create a substantive diagnostic plan, which may include a depression test for teens, that best fits the patients needs for future success.

Exhaustive Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis Services

We offer a full neuropsychological battery for each of our patients. We remove extraneous factors and offer a level of evaluation impossible to achieve at home or other residential settings.

The ViewPoint Center is a comprehensive therapeutic assessment facility, licensed as a specialty teen psychiatric hospital with 24-hour nursing. The mission of the clinical assessment and diagnosis is to provide support stabilization, diagnostic clarity, and the formulation of a longitudinal treatment plan for optimal treatment options. depression test for teens

The assessment is achieved via psychotherapy, neuropsychological testing, classroom assessments, therapeutic milieu, psychiatric stabilization, and daily recreation.  Therapy is provided by licensed clinicians, and each child receives weekly individual therapy sessions and check-ins daily, one family therapy session (via Skype or telephone conference) and five group therapy sessions a week.

Refining Through Continual Diagnoses

Our superior clinical assessment and diagnosis process provides support stabilization, diagnostic clarity, and the formulation of a longitudinal treatment plan for optimal treatment options. Therefore, we produce superior outcomes.

This allows us to gain a well-rounded perspective, including group interactions, individual tests, peer relationships and academic performance.

Each piece of the puzzle is critical in capturing the entirety of your child.  Once the majority of the mental health assessment process have been completed, we conduct a verbal Interdisciplinary Review (IDR) to discuss our initial findings, and then review the neuropsychological testing and therapeutic experiences. We then recommend treatment options to you.

The verbal IDR is typically scheduled at the conclusion of your son/daughter’s stay, you will also receive a final IDR report which more fully integrates our assessment findings derived from the interdisciplinary team. At the end of the therapeutic assessment each family is provided a comprehensive IDR which captures both a well fleshed out diagnosis as well as clearly defined recommendations for future treatment.
